Course overview

The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (FREC3) is a nationally recognised, RQF-accredited qualification. It's designed to equip learners with the essential skills to provide pre-hospital emergency care, managing both life-threatening and non-life-threatening emergencies. This comprehensive 5-day course is an established entry-level pre-hospital care qualification for those wishing to progress to higher levels of pre-hospital care and is aligned to the skills descriptor for a Non-Health Care Professional First Responder on the PHEM skills framework. Duration: 5 Days Timings: 09:00 – 18:00 Location: Close Protection Academy, Brentwood Assessment: Multiple-choice exam and practical skills assessments. Who Is This Course For? SIA Close Protection Operatives Event Medical Responders and Ambulance Support Staff Media and Close Protection Operators working in remote or hostile environments Fire and Rescue Services Personnel On Successful Completion: Learners who successfully complete all required assessments will be awarded the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF).

• Roles and responsibilities of the First Response Emergency Carer
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and safe use of AEDs
• Catastrophic haemorrhage control (tourniquets and haemostatic dressings)
• Recognition and management of fractures, dislocations and burns
• Trauma-related emergencies, including chest, spinal and head injuries
• Caring for children and infants
• Medical emergencies, including anaphylaxis, diabetes and seizures
• Managing an emergency scene, extrication and patient handover to EMS
